A New Year of Service & Hope

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Galatians 6:9

As we step into a new year, Adventist Community Services (ACS) 403 Center continues its commitment to serving the Madison community with compassion, dignity, and faith. January brings new partnerships, growing needs, and meaningful opportunities for individuals and families to come together in service.

Partnerships Strengthening Our Mission

We are grateful to announce new and ongoing partnerships that are expanding our ability to meet the needs of our neighbors.

Hands On Partnership

We are excited to launch a new partnership with Hands On, providing a simple and reliable way for volunteers to connect with ACS 403 Center as needs arise. Through Hands On, individuals, families, and groups can easily sign up to serve and support the work happening at our site.

This partnership allows us to respond more effectively to daily needs while welcoming new helping hands into our ministry.

Second Harvest & Cumberland Landing CARES

We are also thankful for our partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, which enables us to continue providing food to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. Alongside this, we are deeply grateful for grant funding from Cumberland Landing CARES. Together, these partnerships provide stability, growth, and a strong foundation for the future of our ministry.

Sharing Love This Valentine’s Season

Love is in the air at ACS! Valentine’s gifts and cards are now available at the Center, offering a meaningful way to share kindness with loved ones while supporting our mission. Every purchase helps sustain the services that bless our community.

A Beautiful Find

We are delighted to share the arrival of a stunning wedding dress recently donated and now available for sale at the Center.

This elegant gown features delicate lace detailing and a timeless silhouette—perfect for a special day. A beautiful bridal headpiece and veil are also available with the dress. Each unique item that comes through our doors helps fund services that directly support individuals and families in our community.

Ways You Can Support ACS

There are many ways to get involved and support Adventist Community Services 403 Center:

  • Donate gently used clothing, linens, blankets, sleeping bags, and household items

  • Drop off donations during normal business hours
    (Monday–Thursday, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM)

  • Shop in our thrift and boutique areas

  • Volunteer your time through Hands On or directly with ACS

  • Give financially to help sustain daily operations and outreach

Every gift and every hour volunteered extends hope to someone in need.

Meeting Urgent Winter Needs

As freezing temperatures continue, the need in our community remains urgent. We are currently in high need of:

  • Blankets

  • Warm men’s coats

  • Sleeping bags

New or gently used donations provide immediate warmth, safety, and comfort during dangerous winter weather.

Hours, Weather Closures & Important Updates

Regular Hours

  • ACS 403 Center: Monday–Thursday, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

  • Help Center: Monday–Thursday, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM (first-come basis)

During inclement weather and snow days, ACS closely monitors Metro Nashville Public Schools closures and will be closed when Metro schools are closed for safety.

Important Updates

  • Due to safety concerns and snow, we will not be serving our Sabbath meal this week

  • ACS will be closed January 26–29 due to predicted frigid temperatures
(Closures subject to change based on weather conditions)

Volunteer After Work (Volunteers Only)

VOLUNTEERS ONLY - Not open to the public

For those unable to volunteer during the day, ACS offers a once-a-week Tuesday evening volunteer opportunity. During this time, volunteers help organize and prepare areas within the Center. The ACS site and Help Center remain closed to the public so volunteers can focus on behind-the-scenes support.

Please contact Shannon for additional details if you are interested.

With Grateful Hearts - Thank You

We extend our sincere thanks to every volunteer who faithfully dedicates time, energy, and compassion to this ministry. Whether serving occasionally or regularly, every role is vital. Your commitment allows Adventist Community Services 403 Center to remain a place of welcome, help, and hope for the Madison community.

Together, as we enter this new year, we continue doing good: trusting that God will bring a harvest in His perfect time.
