Let’s start with some praises from our Help Center, where we see about 40 clients each day. Many of them share their gratitude and take a moment to pray for us and our work, often speaking about how God has supported them through their journeys. These moments remind us of the strength and resilience within our community.
In June, we began working to get three homeless families off the streets and into permanent housing. It’s such a joy to see the positive follow-up, knowing that they now have a safe place to call home. And now, we get to enjoy the rewarding task of providing the essentials they need for their new homes—furniture, clothing, and food to help them settle in.
We have also assisted a father and his three children, ages 12, 11, and 8. When he first came to us, he had only two tents and a deep sense of desperation. We were able to meet his immediate needs with temporary supplies, and we connected him with an agency that’s working to secure housing for the family. When that day comes, we’ll be there to help furnish their new space, turning it into a true home.
VOLUNTEERS Needed in Every Area!
We can’t do this work without the help of our volunteers. We need support in many areas, including cashiering, store assistance, pricing, sorting and hanging clothes, interviewing clients, preparing food boxes, making sack lunches, intake management, repairing items, moving furniture, and more. We’re even looking for someone to teach basic cooking skills to our clients—could that be you?
Sabbath Morning Breakfasts
Each Sabbath, our Sabbath School classes sponsor breakfast for about 80 people. If you’re interested in being a part of this ministry, talk to your class or reach out to George Carpenter. It’s a wonderful way to serve those in need and start the Sabbath with a heart of giving.
Thank you for your continued support through your prayers and donations—whether it’s items for those living on the streets or necessities for those settling into a new apartment. And don’t forget, football season is a great time to donate your Titans gear, like shirts and jackets! We also welcome donations of bottled water and snacks for our sack lunches.
And if you’re not shopping at our store yet, you’re missing out on some great finds! Every purchase helps fund food for our clients, making a difference in their lives.
If you haven’t visited your local Community Services center yet, make sure to add it to your “to-do” list. We think you’ll find it inspiring. This is one of the largest ministries supported by our churches in the area, and it’s a blessing not only to the community but to everyone involved.
